E-commerce launch for beauty product retailer
Background
The Retreat is a successful beauty salon in Boston, Lincolnshire. They have a loyal customer base and offer a wide variety of treatments. They sell only top quality beauty products from Decleor and Elemis. Their expertise and patient approach led them to expand their service online through a new e-commerce website.
Requirements
The Retreat has an excellent reputation for listening to each customer as an individual and only recommending the very best Decleor and Elemis beauty products. Our challenge was to provide a modern e-commerce site with all the functionality and ease of use that their customers' would expect whilst providing additional advice and guidance to provide the right beauty product for each visitor.
Solution
After extensive research and testing our solution was to allow the customer to search for beauty products not only via top level groups, body care, face care etc. but to also add filters for all sorts of skin types and problems. This helps the customer arrive quickly at the most appropriate product just like they would have if they visited The Retreat salon in person.We also asked Liam, our Google Adwords Professional, to work with the client to assess the market place, the best possible long tail keywords and most effective AdGroups and Ads to maximise the return on the promotional budget allocated to the project.
We have high expectations for the site and will be supporting the client for the first phase to maintain visual imagery, HTML emails and Google optimiser reviews. The site is fully optimised at launch with XML sitemap and meta information.
