Pushchair Trader

Background

Our client identified that parents spend several hundreds pounds on a new pushchair for their child and within a year, or sometimes months, their toddler grows up and gets too big for their buggy. The pram then gets sent to the garage forever, when it's usually still in great condition.

As a result Pushchair Trader was created to provide parents with an opportunity to recycle their pre-owned puschairs. Not to mention make a few quid and make some space in the garage!

Requirements

As a bespoke application, an extended period of planning was required to cover continuous athourity billing, a monthly billing system, image upload, trade and public login system, trade advert creation system, pre-owned puschair listings, Postcode locator with distance from seller calculations and multi-lingual capabilities. The site integrates with Sage for a complete billing solution.

Solution

We not only provided technical solutions for the client but also an ongoing business planning and advice on commercial execution. We also provided a complete look and feel to Pushchair Trader that formed the basis of an identity that can be rolled out to other products and markets.

The sites other features include a "Try before you buy" service with adverts for local retailers shown alongside each pushchair model. Advertising on the site is free for pre-owned pushchairs. If you are looking to buy new, then the site is a great resource for news pushchair news and road tests.
