Intranet

An Intranet for an Unusual Property Partnership

Reference from Stevens Scanlan regarding their Intranet - August 2009

As a result of our ongoing relationship and bespoke requirements, approximately a year a go we elected TJS to design and develop an Intranet solution for our business.

It was extremely important to us to have a solution that permitted dynamic content and the ability for users to interact directly with the website. However, at the same time we required an integrated content management function to enable non IT literate staff to update and manage the site on an ongoing basis. Furthermore, we also decided to implement a solution whereby users could be seamlessly authenticated onto the site, using pass-through authentication to our internal back-end systems. This enabled the site to be developed in such a way, that the content being viewed could be determined based on the user accessing the site.

A summary of our key requirements were as follows:

  • An integrated management solution to allow flexibility and ongoing additions to the site.
  • Controlled access to the site based on user and group membership.
  • Staff global address book with photos and other information.
  • Repository for company standard documents, templates and policies or procedures.
  • An Intranet search facility
  • A technical support function allowing users to submit requests and lookup solutions.
The project has been successfully completed and was delivered within budget and agreed timescales. I would have no doubts in recommending TJS to other customers, specifically where the customer has a requirement for a set of bespoke features.
