The Brief

Boston West boasts a mature 18 hole Golf Course with a hotel, restaurant, conference and event facilities. Set in the broad, open landscape of the Fens, members and guests enjoy the big skies and wildlife, common to the area.

Our client has a wealth of digital experience from another ecommerce business and wanted to create the same combination of excellent customer service, along with a polished online experience for this new investment.

The business is being rejuvenated with a significant investment in the course and facilities. The ultimate aim is to link the digital offering online with all the club’s services seamlessly,  so customers can build and book a leisure or business service from a single interaction with the site. TJS has worked with a 3rd party software house, that specialises in leisure booking software so that food and beverage, hotel rooms, conference facilities, tee times, membership and golf range are all available to book in one visit to the website.

Our Solution

The architecture of the information on the site means that customers with different needs can all find information relevant to them quickly and easily, on any device.

The site design and branding, initiated by TJS, was set out in a style guide to ensure consistency across all communications.

 

 

Drone videography

Drone video footage was captured by TJS at dawn on a summer’s morning to catch the course in the best possible light. This video has been so well received that it is used in-house as a promotional tool, on the website, and for digital marketing in social media campaigns.

Customer Engagement

Multiple contact points on the site mean that customers can book, enquire through a traditional form or interact with service managers via a real-time chat facility. The head greenkeeper can also login each day and report on the status of the course, which encourages interaction and repeat visits.

of visitors make a significant interaction

After launch, over 17% of visitors to the site are making a significant interaction. For example, they are either booking a service, downloading documents, making an enquiry, getting directions or booking a tee-time.

TJS continues to work with Boston West on the 3rd party booking integration and on enhancing the site’s features. These will soon include hole by hole video coverage of the 18 hole course.
