First time exhibitors at the Royal Show, Tastes of Lincolnshire launched its new quality food brand at the event. ‘Select Lincolnshire’ is designed to identify food exported from the county, much of it destined for supermarket shelves.
‘Although Lincolnshire has long been a highly productive county – we produce 20 per cent of UK-produced food, and over 30 per cent of its vegetables – we have been relatively slow in identifying to consumers that it comes from the county.’ said Tastes of Lincolnshire project officer Mary Powell.
Twelve companies have already taken up the brand. Exhibitors included TJS customer FC Phipps, voted Britain’s Best Butcher by Country Life magazine. Andrew Nelson of FC Phipps proudly displayed its specialty dish – stuffed chine.
